The William S. Webb Museum of Anthropology & Office of State Archaeology connects students, educators, researchers, and public audiences with archaeology, anthropology, collections, and cultural heritage stewardship.
Education and outreach are central to the public-service mission of WSWMA & OSA. Through university instruction, facility tours, collections-based learning, public presentations, library partnerships, digital interpretation, and community programs, we help make archaeological and anthropological knowledge accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Our educational work introduces students and the public to the methods, ethics, and discoveries of archaeology and anthropology. It also encourages responsible stewardship of archaeological sites, collections, records, and cultural heritage information. Whether supporting a University of Kentucky course, coordinating a public lecture, answering a community question, or developing future online resources, WSWMA & OSA seeks to share information in ways that are accurate, engaging, and respectful.
At launch, this section highlights current opportunities for academic and instructional support and public outreach. Additional online resources, K–12 materials, classroom activities, and digital exhibits are currently in development.
