The William S. Webb Museum of Anthropology & Office of State Archaeology supports archaeological and anthropological research, student training, public service, and collaborative scholarship across Kentucky and beyond.
Research at WSWMA & OSA is grounded in Museum collections, archival and documentary materials, archaeological site records, field documentation, digital initiatives, and partnerships with University, agency, professional, and community collaborators. These resources support new questions about Kentucky’s past, the broader human story, collections stewardship, landscape change, public archaeology, museum practice, and cultural heritage management.

Researchers interested in Museum collections should begin with the Collections Access Requests page. Researchers interested in archaeological site records, GIS data, CRM reports, or access to OSA’s archaeological site files should begin with the Office of State Archaeology’s Records Review or OSA Library Access procedures.
